Water Pressure Issues – too much pressure or too little pressure

If you find that the pressure of your water supply system is too low, it may be necessary to assess the problem. Low pressure is inadequate because it fails to serve fixtures; high pressure may be detrimental because it can damage pipes and fixtures. It can even lead to slab leaks!

No Water to Fixtures

If water pressure issues are affecting water fixtures in your home, the fix could be as easy as unscrewing the aerator to the water fixture and cleaning out debris that may be blocking the water flow. If this is the case, you may need a new water filtration system — and we can help with that!

Water Filtration

It’s all about location, location, location! And when you’re located in the High Desert, hard water may be a common issue you’ll face. The High Desert region is known for its mineral-rich water — great for your body, but not so much for your plumbing. If not properly filtered, you’ll start to notice white residue building up around your water fixtures. This residue can formulate into a hard substance that is extremely difficult to remove and that shortens the life span of all your water fixtures.

Rescue Plumbers can provide you with a state-of-the-art filtration system. No more bags of salts and constant maintenance! We install a compact citrus filter — a cylinder about 8 inches wide and 1 ½ feet long; about 90% smaller than most salt filtration systems. This simple 1-cylinder system is enough to soften the water in our home system. You can also add a second cylinder to further filter your home’s water and allows you to drink water from any fixture in your home.

Adding this filtration system to your home not only significantly extends the life of your water fixtures, but your shower valve, angle stops, water heather, and even your washer!

Other Water Pressure Issues

There are some situations where your water pressure issues may be due to water system piping. If you have aging galvanized piping, it may deteriorate from the inside and start circulating sand-like material throughout your entire water system.

In a situation like this, the best option is to call Rescue Plumbers for a re-pipe consultation. There is no way to stop the breakdown process — it is best to abandon the old system and install a new one before any serious problems occur.

Pressure Regulator

This pear-shaped device (most likely located in your garage) is what controls and equalizes the water pressure in your home!  When this guy stops working, you will experience high water pressure and pressure fluctuations. For example, if you’re taking a shower and someone flushes a toilet, you’ll notice the water pressure goes up and down and few times before returning to normal.

If you’re having problems with your pressure regulator, one sign to look for is if there is leakage coming from your water heater’s pressure valve. If water is leaking from the pressure valve, it’s a good clue that your pressure regulator may need to be replaced. In that case, call us here at Rescue Plumbers and we’ll get it fixed in no time!

Bad Smell in Homes or Businesses

When a foul odor is detected, whether inside a building or in a home, it’s critical to call Rescue Plumbers Inc. to secure the services of a qualified plumber because foul odors have the potential to be harmful to health, and can ward off potential customers to your business.
